News Highlights
USTA in Schools

Since 2019, nearly 700 Southern California Physical Education instructors have received tennis training, curriculum and equipment through the USTA’s Net Generation Schools program. The program focuses on providing resources to teachers and other school staff who can then introduce tennis to their students in a supportive and empowering environment. As a result, thousands of SoCal students at 300 area schools are now exposed to tennis as part of their in-school experience.

Community Providers

USTA Southern California is proud to support a variety of organizations that deliver tennis programming to youngsters throughout the Section. Among them, National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) chapters provide tennis development, wellness, and education enrichment to under-resourced youth. Community Tennis Associations (CTA) are volunteer-based organizations that support tennis programming for various audiences.

Strategic Partnerships

USTA Southern California has teamed up with several important organizations and philanthropic entities. These strategic partnerships have allowed the Section to make material increases in tennis programming throughout the Section and distribute the important benefits of physical activity and character development to many more young people.

Kimmelman Campus

The Carol Kimmelman Athletic and Academic Campus, slated to launch in 2021, will be the largest nonprofit, community athletic and academic center in the western United States, as well as the new home of USTA Southern California. The Campus will include nearly 50 state-of-the-art tennis courts plus soccer fields, basketball courts, track and field, and academic enrichment through the Tiger Woods Foundation and its STEM-focused educational organization.
